ARCH112 MIDTERM

In Arch112 midterm, some groups were created randomly by our instructors and every five person responsible for both drawing and model of choosen Structures. Our Structure is Gerrit Rietveld's Schroeder House. This house is in Holland and its location has some traditional buildings. When we look at this building, this is much more innovative structure than others even it was built in 1924. Also this building is one of the best examples of De-Stijl architecture. While this building use actively since 1985, after Mrs.Schroeders death, it was started to use as a museum. Also in 2 December 2000, it became the member of UNESCO list of  Herritage sites.

Now my turn. My Drawings include 2 Plan, 2 Section and Two elevation. Also when i create my model I always care abstract idea and create my model in the light of abstraction. Here is my drawings and different views of my model

Each structure has its own story. And this is Khan Shatyr's one. For Arch372 lesson we choose a structure and examine its structural details. Sketches can be include utopic ideas or it may stand on realistic things. Me and my group can not defend any certain idea. There are both of these things and it is kind of debate about what will happen if there is realistic things happen or what happen with utopic ideas. Here what we reach:

Architectural tour in Ankara (04 assignment)

It was a rainy day… Again noone has no idea what we are doing… This is a kind of principles of being architechture student. Sounds echoing like “its up to you!” in studio. Then we recognized that nothing can be same after this trip… Here comes new assignment. Last friday we take an architectural tour in Ankara and we have to focus light and shadow qualities in Buildings. In poster (which is on the left) you can see old buildings. They may seem like normal structure but when we think that 1920-30s, they are really important and well designed buildings for Ankara.  Also there are more photos when i took this trip. I didn't add these pictures to my poster thats why i couldnt find exact texture in these photos.
