Arch 111 Final Assignment : İller Bankası Drawing

Today I'm here with my final drawing which contains iller bankası with both axonometric and orthographic drawing. This was finished the end of the first semester by me and its one of the most competitive drawing i have ever did.  Lets sum up details of iller bankası building. It was designed by Seyfi Arkan who is modernist architect. And also we know that iller bankası is one of the best modernist expression in early republican period in Turkey. And here is my 1/200 scaled drawing :

VARIATION IN IDEAS

Sometimes one idea transform in different intellect and everything can change. Thats what we do in studio this semestr. A months ago, I have just some observations about how bracelet create and now I have 4 models which are totally different each other. First one only has stick form elements (linear), Second one only has cartridge board (planar), third one has both of these elements and final model also include transparent element with stick and cartridge board. And I can say that all of these four models has some similarity but elements and their aim alter everything unbelievably. Firstly I desire to mention how everything started briefly. I need to observe one craft and I chose bracelet. Instead how bracelet was created, steps are important for me. (Like repetition, continuity, convergence, divergence and etc.) After that I transfered these steps in my flow chart. Then I saw that steps also create groups and these groups repeat itselves. Then when we were making model, I adapted thi

EXPERIENCING ARCHITECTURE

Every kind of art has special qualities in itself. And architect benefit from all of them like sculptor and painter. But architect' main way should about functional art.Actually, we can not describe architect as a only artist. We can say that architect is also theatrical producer and when architect doing this job he manage ordinary people. So he/she should be careful about what he doing and plan his/her steps. When build a structure, use old conditions directly, which is called copy, is not a acceptable thing for architecture. And it should also has modernity and continuity in itself. In future it should has something special. On the other hand, while architect doing his/her job, not produce himself/herself as an artist. So we can say that architect remain anonymous. These qualities may seeems negative for architecture but they have also some positive qualities in itself. Rythym and harmony appeal thanks to these negative qualities. And we should always thought that architecture

Final model of Assignment 05: Structural Frame

Do you remember my old assignment' model? This is not finished one and I made some addition on it. here is finished one :

ARCH111 Midterm

If I summarize my first semester with two words I can say LE CORBUSIER.  Our lecturers gave us a 4 hour and they want to orthographic drawing again. We could draw Le Corbusier' building which is called Villa Savoye. My first try about orthographic projection was not so powerful and I should fix my problems about this. And after 4 hour I have better orthographic drawing when we compared with my old disaster (tape dispenser) Do you have any interest about lego ? This can be catch your attention :

06 assignment Orthographic Projection

Here is another reason for cancer : Drawing tape dispenser using orthographic projection. I hear that you asking whether is that a prank or not. If you are architecure student, you should get used to this kind of unbelieveable assignment and of course there is no way for prank in architecture studio. Whatever, in this drawing, real proportion was used by me and as you know, sometimes something happened without your control. There are some notes in my drawing which reveals my mistakes and after critics i learn how can I draw with ortographic style. In addition, if you want to learn what ortographic projection means, here comes : orthographic projection (n)   projection of a single view of an object (as a view of the front) onto a drawing surface in which the lines of projection are perpendicular to the drawing surface  And here is my model (tape dispenser) and my drawing :

AXONOMETRIC DRAWING

Im here with my new assignment. As you know drawing is inevitable element for architecture. Axonometric drawing is one of this inevitable element. So, what is this axonometric drawing ? Axonometric (adj) designating a method of projection (axonometric projection) in which a three-dimensional object is represented by a drawing (axonometric drawing) having all axes drawn to exact scale, resulting in the optical distortion of diagonals and curves. After we learnt this, our lecturers want to draw our planar models with using this method. And we should decide for which degree we plan to use. 45-45 and 30-60 are most special degree for us and every person has different model in studio. So models 3D measure is most important fact for selection. My model' x-y-z axis have same length and I decided to chose 45 degree. Here is my model and axonometric drawing :

06 Assignment Variation I

In older post, I share something about making bracelet process and converting that to a stick (linear) model. After this model, our lecturers gave time for revising our model. ( We can use thanks to our lecturers in here, lol) Whatever, after some addition, I create this model: (cartridge board is supportive element in here, its not a part of this model)  And we think that we reach final production with this model. But of course its not final production and now we should  change the way of making rotation addition and branch. Now we should work on cartridge board and we have to make new model for this assignment. If you think we suprised after this assignment, you make a huge mistake. Because we know its just a starting and it becomes more complicated time after time. ( You can most probably see next parts of this assignment in new post) Working on Cartridge board has both negative and positive ways. But I can easily say gluing cartridge board each other is one of the most crucial
